The Kilner Silicone Fermentation Lid & Air Lock is specially designed to be used with a 3 litre Kilner Jar. The lid is made from premium silicone and combines an Air Lock which in turn creates an anaerobic atmosphere which is perfect for fermenting foods.
The air lock allows gases to be released from the fermenting foods, but does not allow air to enter the jar. Air entering the jar from outside can cause the food to spoil.
Adding the fermentation lid to a Kilner Jar means that you can make probiotic-rich foods at home. Delicious, nutrient fermented foods include sauerkraut, pickles and kimchi.
